Vermin

Overview

Vermin is the Trait on the Exotic Sidearm Rat King. Reloading straight after a kill grants a brief period of invisibility. Use it to stay safe after a kill and keep pushing.

Catalyst

The Infestation catalyst increases aim assist and recoil direction, and refreshes health whenever Vermin activates. A catalyst drops randomly from Strike and Nightfall completions and cannot be targeted. A fireteam member other than you must defeat 1,000 enemies with Rat King to unlock it. The Last Wish raid's Shuro Chi checkpoint is a common farming spot.

Obtaining the weapon

Buy it from the Exotic Kiosk at the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower, for Exotic Cipher, Ascendant Shard, Helium Filaments and Glimmer.

Performance

Rat King is generally seen as underperforming in high-end PvE and PvP. The catalyst improves it only slightly, and the healing is designed for fireteam play rather than solo builds.
