Rat King

Overview

Rat King is a Kinetic Exotic Sidearm. Its intrinsic perk, Rat Pack, makes it stronger when nearby allies also have it equipped, stacking up to six times. It also has Smallbore for range and stability, and Vermin, which grants brief invisibility after reloading following a kill.

Acquisition

• Exotic Archive: From Season 20 onward it can be bought at the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower (the Monument to Lost Lights), in the Red War section.
• Historically: Obtained via the quest "Rat King's Crew" after the Titan world quest "Enemy of My Enemy", which asked for patrols, public events, Crucible matches and a Nightfall.

Catalyst

The catalyst could drop from Strike and Nightfall chests and was also offered by Xûr and playlist rewards. It needs 1,000 kills; fireteam members using Rat King add bonus progress. It adds Infestation: improved aim assist and recoil direction, and health restored when Vermin invisibility triggers. Sources differ on how the catalyst is currently earned.
