Wrathborn

Overview

The Wrathborn are mindless, rage-filled soldiers serving Xivu Arath, the Hive god of war. They debuted in Season of the Hunt. Xivu Arath's forces drew them from the Hive, the Fallen and the Cabal, corrupting them and in some cases bringing them in from other dimensions. Savathûn has said that Xivu Arath's magic twisted them so far that they are neither Hive, Fallen nor Cabal.

Creation

Xivu Arath's High Celebrant summoned Cryptoliths from the Ascendant Realm to carry out her plans in the Sol System. Cryptoliths strengthen the Wrathborn, remake their bodies into monstrous forms and strip their minds down to a desire to kill. They also let the Wrathborn move between dimensions, and can only be drawn out with a Cryptolith Lure built by the Crow. Wrathborn can help build more Cryptoliths.

Activity

They have fought the Vanguard and the Reef across the system, attacking the Tangled Shore, the Dreaming City, Savathûn's Spire and the Pale Heart, where they were used in the Final Shape. They are allied with the Taken, Scorn, the House of Salvation and the Dread, and oppose the Vanguard, the Reef, the Imperial Cabal, House of Dusk, House of Spiders, Rasputin and the Lucent Brood.
