High Celebrant

Overview

The High Celebrant of Xivu Arath was an Ascendant Hive Knight sent by Xivu Arath, the God of War, to establish her authority over the local Hive in the Sol system after Savathûn vanished. It spread Cryptoliths across the Moon, the Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City; these corrupted Fallen, Cabal and other Hive into Wrathborn worshippers of Xivu Arath.

During the "Immolant" incident it confronted Osiris at the Enduring Abyss and tried to sacrifice him; Osiris escaped only because his Ghost Sagira intervened, and she died doing so.

Coup de Grâce

The High Celebrant is the target of the Season of the Hunt finale mission Coup de Grâce in Harbinger's Seclude, Dreaming City (recommended Power 1250, 1-3 players). It cannot be permanently killed in normal space: a Cryptolith Lure is used to track and damage it, and the fight continues in the Ascendant Plane. Crow closes the portal it would escape through, letting the Guardian deliver the killing blow.
