Dawning: Snowball Fight

Overview

Dawning: Snowball Fight is a Crucible activity added for The Dawning, the annual winter event. It is a 6v6 matchmade playlist in which no guns or abilities are enabled: every Guardian fights only with snowballs, and a hit kills in one throw.

How to launch

Select it from the Crucible playlists in the Director (the 2025 event guide also lists it inside the Portal under Crucible Ops). The Dawning quest line from Eva Levante in the Tower includes the step "Complete a Match of Dawning Snowball fight".

Mechanics

• Snowballs spawn around the map during the match.
• Damage with Stasis snowballs builds a meter; when full you can fire a snowball super, a large freezing blast.
• Event upgrades bought with Dawning Spirit change snowballs: Long Winter (longer slow), Stay Frosty (snowballs leave Stasis mines) and Longest Winter (damaged targets freeze instantly). These do not apply in other Crucible modes.

Rewards

Matches progress the Dawning event and drop event gear. The 2025 event weapons were Mistral Rift (Void linear fusion rifle), Permafrost (Stasis grenade launcher) and Fimbulwinter Stitch (Arc sidearm). The reward list also includes older Dawning gear such as the Triumphal Anthem armor set.

Triumphs
