Joxer

Overview

Joxer was a human Titan from Earth and a Guardian of the Vanguard. He was a veteran of the Great Ahamkara Hunt and a frequent Gambit competitor. After a Gambit Prime test run ended with the final deaths of three Guardians, he cut ties with the Drifter and rededicated himself to the Vanguard.

Fate

Joxer was one of the Guardians who followed the Witness through the portal on the Traveler. He pushed his ship deeper into the portal, which ejected him, his Ghost, and his ship, partially liquefying them. His final death is recorded as being fused into his ship after he tried to enter the portal to the Pale Heart.

Memorial

After his death, the Drifter made an amulet inscribed with Joxer's name and placed it before the Ironwood Tree in the Tower courtyard. The Drifter lamented that “dumb heroics would get someone killed every time.” The memorial appears in the Grimoire card The Ironwood Tree, which describes the amulet as plain and handmade, not an Iron Lord token.
