History of Vault of Glass

Overview

The Vault of Glass is a six-player Raid in the Ishtar Sink on Venus. It first appeared in the original Destiny (September 2014) and was reprised in Destiny 2 on May 22, 2021. The goal is to destroy Atheon, Time's Conflux, the Vex Oracle of time. Recommended Power is 1300 (2021). Launch it from the Legends/Raids node on the Venus director map. Treat power numbers as era-specific.

Encounters

  1. Waking Ruins (Spire): defend three sync plates against Praetorians and Cyclopes for five minutes to build the central Spire and open the vault.
  2. Confluxes: defend three Confluxes from waves of Vex, including Wyverns, that try to sacrifice themselves into them. Standing in blue/white pools applies Marked for Negation.
  3. Oracles: destroy Oracles in the exact order they appear; a wrong shot stacks a wipe debuff.
  4. Templar: use the Aegis Relic to cleanse Marked by the Void and strip the Templar's shield by shooting ordered Oracles, then damage it before it teleports.
  5. Gorgons' Labyrinth: a stealth maze. Being seen by a Gorgon and not destroying it in about ten seconds wipes the team. It ends in a jumping puzzle over disappearing platforms.
  6. Gatekeepers: defeat three Gatekeepers across past (Mars), present and future (Venus) by passing the Relic through portals and killing Praetorians; the central Conflux must be defended throughout.
  7. Atheon, Time's Conflux: three players are teleported to the past or future portal to destroy Oracles while the outside team opens the matching portal. Killing Oracles grants "Time's Vengeance", enabling a roughly 30 second damage phase.

Challenges

Weekly encounter challenges: "Wait for It..." (Confluxes), "The Only Oracle for You" (Oracles), "Out of Its Way" (Templar), "Strangers in Time" (Gatekeepers) and "Ensemble's Refrain" (Atheon). See Vault of Glass: Challenge Mode for the all-challenges-required version.
