Strangers in Time

Overview

Strangers in Time is the Gatekeepers encounter challenge in Vault of Glass and contributes to Fatebreaker. Its completion also increases the initial Vex Mythoclast drop chance.

How to complete

For each paired portal wave, defeat the Praetorian and Wyvern within a few seconds of each other. Have the Aegis holder prepare to break the Praetorian's shield while the opposite portal player weakens the Wyvern without killing it early.

Communicate readiness and use a countdown for both final blows. Keep the portal plates defended and rotate the Relic carrier through the normal encounter cycle. Repeat synchronized defeats for all six pairs.

After those waves, leave the portals and defend the final central Conflux. The central defense enemies do not require paired kill timing. Finish the encounter without a challenge failure; killing one portal target substantially before its partner fails the requirement.
