NES006

Overview

NES006 is a Specimen ID quest from Episode: Echoes, given by Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. The specimen is the Assimilated Torch Hammer, which you place in the specimen display once the quest's objectives are done.

Finding the specimen

The specimen is in an Echoes Battleground, specifically the Core battleground, near the end of the mission just before the boss. After reaching the rally flag, head left to a geyser of Vex Radiolaria behind glass, and the specimen is in a corner of that area. Battleground matchmaking is random, so you can't choose the Core battleground directly.

Walkthrough

1. Defeat combatants with Sidearms or Auto Rifles (final blows, 0/150). Defeating other Guardians gives bonus progress.
2. Defeat combatants with Arc or Solar damage (final blows, 0/200).
3. Generate Orbs of Power (0/100). Orbs generated in Crucible or Gambit give bonus progress.
4. Speak with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M. to review her report.
5. Place the Assimilated Torch Hammer in the specimen display at the H.E.L.M. and wait for Failsafe's analysis to finish.

Rewards

Steps 3 and 4 produce research items: Data-Formatting Keys, which unlock additional engrams from Echo chests, and a Combat Protocol Override, which detects high-value targets in Echoes Battlegrounds.
