Grandmaster: Tree of Probabilities

Overview

Grandmaster: Tree of Probabilities is a Triumph in Destiny 2. It is earned by completing the Tree of Probabilities Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty. It was tied to Season of the Worthy and counts toward the Conqueror seal.

The strike is on Mercury and comes from Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris. It is for one to three players. Its boss is Valus Thuun, Centurion.

The strike was moved into the Destiny Content Vault with Destiny 2: Beyond Light and is not currently in the game. The Grandmaster triumph therefore cannot be earned on the live game unless the strike returns.

How to complete

1. Follow the waypoint to the Infinite Forest and clear the Legionaries, Goblins and Hobgoblins. At the gate, defeat the Cabal ambush led by a Honored Colossus to lower the barrier.
2. Clear the Vex and Cabal waves in the Infinite Forest, watching for Hydras. Use the walls for cover at the portal, where a large Cabal wave attacks.
3. Exit the portal, summon your vehicle and boost across the gap. The Harpies can be skipped by following the waypoint through the cave.
4. In Atlas Grove, push through the Legionaries and Incendiors, avoiding the holes and snipers. Take the left door, drop down and enter the boss fight.
5. Valus Thuun: stay away from him because of his powerful area attack. He alternates between a faster Slug mode and a Concussion mode with knockback, so use nearby cover.
6. When his health drops enough, he sets up lasers and jumps to another area. Defeat the Legionaries, Hydras and Minotaurs, then drop into the next arena.
7. The second arena adds a Ground Slam with strong knockback. The cycle repeats with more lasers and stronger waves.

Tips

• Do not rush ahead of your team. A single enemy you did not expect can catch you out.
