Season

Overview

A Season was a roughly three-month slice of Destiny 2 content with its own story, seasonal activities, Seasonal Challenges, a Season Pass and a Seasonal Artifact. The seasonal model began in Year 2, when Destiny 2: Forsaken (September 2018) introduced the Annual Pass.

History

• Year 2: three premium seasons, Season of the Forge (Season 5, December 2018), Season of the Drifter (Season 6, March 2019) and Season of Opulence (Season 7, June 2019), had to be bought together in the Annual Pass. Annual Pass content became free to Forsaken owners on September 18, 2019.
• Year 3: Destiny 2: Shadowkeep (October 2019) brought the modern season pass with free and premium tracks. The four seasons, Season of the Undying, Season of Dawn, Season of the Worthy and Season of Arrivals, could be purchased individually, and seasonal activities became unavailable when a season ended.
• Year 7: seasons were replaced by three longer Episodes, numbered Seasons 24-26.
• Year 8: Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate (July 2025) moved to two large content periods with a weekly Seasonal Hub in the Portal (see Reward Track).
