History of Conqueror

Overview

Conqueror is the Grandmaster Nightfall seal, introduced in Season of the Worthy (Season 10) and granting the Conqueror title. It rewards clearing every Grandmaster Nightfall available in a season, so the exact list changes each season.

For Season of the Worthy, the six Grandmasters were Insight Terminus, Exodus Crash, The Arms Dealer, Warden of Nothing, Broodhold and Tree of Probabilities. Later seasons use their own six; for example, Season 17 used Proving Grounds, Insight Terminus, Warden of Nothing, The Corrupted, The Inverted Spire and The Arms Dealer.

Triumphs

• Six seasonal Grandmaster triumphs - one per Grandmaster Nightfall of the season (the requirement tree also lists past Grandmasters such as Grandmaster: The Festering Core and Grandmaster: Lake of Shadows).
• Grand Conqueror / Total Conquest - awarded for clearing all six Grandmasters of a season.
• Lightbearer - score at least 150,000 points in any Nightfall (any difficulty).
• Breaker of Champions - defeat 100 Champions in Nightfalls.
• Conqueror's Discipline - clear a Grandmaster with each of Arc, Void, Solar and Stasis subclasses; the hardest permanent requirement.

Guides count the permanent core differently: four permanent triumphs (Lightbearer, Breaker of Champions, Conqueror's Discipline and Total Conquest, which needs six different Grandmasters; replaying one does not count), or ten in total including the six per-Grandmaster triumphs. The list above shows the full set. Lightbearer is easiest on high-enemy-count Nightfalls such as The Devils' Lair or Proving Grounds.

Tips

Bring Champion-countering mods, a Barrier/Overload/Unstoppable plan, and a coordinated fireteam. Grandmasters are heavily underleveled and have limited revives.

Gilding

A seal you have already unlocked is gilded by completing all six Grandmaster Nightfalls available during a single season (the four permanent triumphs only need doing once). Gilding is repeatable each season in which Grandmasters are offered.
