Chalice

The Chalice (Chalice of Light) is the central mechanic of the Crota's End raid. It charges over time, faster when enemies near the holder die; when full the holder gets a debuff, and passing it to a teammate within its window makes the original carrier Enlightened. Enlightened lets a player light lanterns, build and cross the bridge, pass barriers and damage the Oversoul. In The Abyss the Chalice is deposited on podiums while the Weight of Darkness stacks slow the team. The Equal Vessels challenge for Ir Yut, the Deathsinger requires everyone to take the Chalice once. Not to be confused with the Chalice of Opulence artifact of Season of Opulence.
