The Sundering

Overview

The Sundering is a Triumph with a completion score of 40. The objective requires the player to complete the Sundered Doctrine dungeon. Success is determined by solving the riddle and defeating the dungeon's bosses, Zoetic Lockset and Kerrev, the Erased.

How to complete

To earn this triumph, the player must finish the Sundered Doctrine dungeon. This involves solving the dungeon's riddle and defeating the two bosses: Zoetic Lockset and Kerrev, the Erased.

Encounter route

Launch Sundered Doctrine with access to the The Final Shape Dungeon Key. The objective tracks all three encounters; a final-boss checkpoint alone leaves the riddle and Lockset objectives unfinished.

1. Riddle: Defeat Truthspeakers to reveal missing symbols and Lens Bearers to obtain lenses. Connect beams to the correct symbol wheels. Complete one connection in the first round, two in the second and three in the third. Align lenses before feeding the beam through them, because repeated rotation can destroy an active lens.
2. Zoetic Lockset: Defeat Preceptors for Resonance Splinters and deposit them to rotate the symbol wheels. Shoot each wheel's Crux to reverse its direction. Set the rightmost three wheels to Stop and the leftmost to Kill, locking Stop first to delay the damage trigger and maximize the damage phase. Damage an open Shrieker; all four share a health pool. Repeat until the boss dies.
3. Kerrev, the Erased: Use a Truthspeaker to distinguish the true three-symbol statement from the false one. Illuminate the lie's symbols and leave the truth's symbols unlit. Defeat Unwritten Attendants to gain Unwritten Empowerment and break the Strand locks on lenses. Activate the central console, take cover from the burning orb and damage Kerrev once his shield drops. Repeat the puzzle and damage cycle until he dies.

Rewards

Claiming the Triumph awards 40 Triumph score and the Unsounded Depths emblem. It contributes to the Drowned seal. Ordinary encounter loot and the chance of Finality's Auger are separate dungeon rewards; an ordinary clear does not grant the historical Contest emblem. No solo or flawless condition is required for this completion record.
