Overview

The Hothead (Adept) is a Legendary Rocket Launcher that deals Arc damage. It is categorized as a Weapon and features the flavor text: "Think of it as a weaponized temper tantrum."

Uses the Adaptive Frame archetype in the heavy slot with heavy ammunition.

Acquisition

Originally a Grandmaster Nightfall Adept reward from Season of the Lost. Adept access depended on the featured weapon rotation. Legacy weapon focusing does not supply retired Adept versions. The original Nightfall playlist was replaced by Ops categories in June 2026.

Crafting and variants

This is a random-roll weapon without a crafting pattern. It is an Adept variant. It has no legacy sunsetting Power cap; those caps were removed with The Final Shape.

Notable traits

Auto-Loading Holster reloads while the weapon is stowed. Explosive Light uses collected Orbs of Power to boost explosive damage. Origin traits include Stunning Recovery, Vanguard's Vindication.
