Stasis Trigger

Overview

Stasis Trigger is the Exotic catalyst quest for the Cryosthesia 77K Sidearm. It is given by Banshee-44 in the Tower once you own the sidearm. The weapon was the Season of the Splicer Season Pass reward and is now obtained via the Monument to Lost Lights using Exotic Ciphers. Expect a few hours of grinding across Crucible, Strike and other Ops playlists.

Walkthrough

1. Speak to Banshee-44 in the Tower with Cryosthesia 77K in your collection to pick up the quest.
2. Reverse-engineer the schematics: get 75 precision final blows, defeat 50 Guardians and defeat 100 combatants. Any weapon counts. Use a Scout Rifle or Hand Cannon for precision kills in Strikes and play Crucible Control for Guardian defeats. Shacknews advises doing the PvP kills early.
3. Calibrate data: generate 200 Calibration Data, defeat 50 Guardians and 100 combatants while using Cryosthesia 77K. Calibration comes from completing Ops activities; Crucible wins add progress. At launch, higher-difficulty Nightfall completions gave more progress, and Season Pass perks quadrupled progress (Game Rant); that was for Season of the Splicer and may no longer apply.
4. Return to Banshee-44 in the Tower to receive the catalyst.

Sources differ slightly: older guides describe step 2 as requiring the sidearm for kills and one says it need not stay equipped while farming Calibration Data; follow the in-game objective text.

Rewards

• Cryosthesia 77K Catalyst. It unlocks after 700 weapon kills and adds Cold Efficiency: shattering a frozen target refills the magazine from reserves.
