Malkanth

Overview

Malkanth, also called Malkanth, the Deceiver, was a Hive Wizard of the Hidden Swarm on the Moon. After Crota, Oryx and much of the Hive nobility fell to Guardians, she judged the heirs of the Osmium Court unworthy of the vacant thrones and planned to overthrow the Daughters of Crota.

Inquisition of the Damned

Malkanth is the central figure of the lore book Inquisition of the Damned. With her siblings Akrazul and Azavath, she performed the Inquisition of Self, a ritual that severs an essence from its body, to place Akrazul's essence into Azavath's body. Savathûn whispered to Akrazul during the ritual, urging him to turn on his sister.

Akrazul impaled Malkanth shortly after the ritual, and Savathûn spoke to her as she died. Malkanth's body was later used to house Azavath's essence.

Notes

The sources give the ritual sequence in different orders, and they give no in-universe dates for these events.
