Live Events

Overview

Live Events are time-limited activities that add a themed activity or mechanic to Destiny 2. Most recur on a set schedule each year, while others were one-time events that have since ended.

Recurring events

  • Iron Banner: a PvP event starting the first Tuesday of each month and lasting a week, with a modified Control mode in the Crucible. Lord Saladin trades Iron Banner Tokens for Iron Engrams, but the current season's Iron Banner quest must be completed before the Engram can be accepted.
  • The Dawning: a winter event for Christmas and New Year's, where players bake cookies with ingredients gathered from enemies and turn them in for gear and experience.
  • Crimson Days: a Valentine's Day event with a Crucible mode played in pairs. Partners recharge abilities faster when close together.
  • Trials of Osiris: a weekly 3v3 PvP mode, available from Friday's reset until Tuesday's weekly reset, on a different map each week. It has no matchmaking, so players need a three-person fireteam.
  • Revelry: a spring event, usually around April and May, where players drink Reveler's Tonic to complete challenges and earn seasonal armor.
  • Solstice: a summer event running from late July through August. It features the European Aerial Zone mission, event armor that upgrades in stages, and Magnificent Glow ornaments that take on the equipped subclass's elemental color.
  • Festival of the Lost: an autumn Halloween event with a timed dungeon crawl through an infinite forest. Players collect candy and turn it in for special items.
