Gnawing Hun Gar

Overview

Gnawing Hun Gar is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires catching one Gnawing Hun Gar, a Legendary fish. It was added with Fishing in Season of the Deep.

How to complete

1. Finish the first weekly mission, Into the Depths, then speak with Hawthorne. He asks you to collect bait.
2. Collect bait from activities such as Salvage, Deep Dives, playlists, public events, patrols and destination materials. Harder or longer activities generally give more bait.
3. Go to any pond in the European Dead Zone, on Nessus or in Savathun's Throne World. Press interact to start fishing, then press it again when the prompt appears to reel in the catch.
4. Press interact shortly after a fish bites to land a perfect catch. Perfect catches fill the Focused Fishing meter faster than regular catches.
5. Fish with other Guardians. A fuller Focused Fishing meter raises your chance at Legendary and Exotic catches, and the meter counts Legendary catches across the group.

Tip: leave caught fish on the ground instead of collecting them, clear the public event, then collect them at the next pond. They count toward the second pond's meter.

Rewards

Landing a Gnawing Hun Gar completes the triumph. Fishing also gives daily catches that can be Legendary weapons and armor.
