Faction

Overview

Factions are groups a Guardian can join for reputation and rewards. The main joinable ones form the City's Consensus: Dead Orbit (leave Earth), Future War Cult (prepare for inevitable conflict) and New Monarchy (restore the Golden Age under a single leader).

Reputation

Guardians pledged for 2,500 Glimmer, and could switch once weekly. Reputation was earned during Faction Rally events by turning in faction tokens collected from strikes, Nightfalls, public events and Lost Sectors (1 to 18 tokens each). Every rank-up awarded a faction Engram with faction weapons, armor, shaders and Legendary Shards. At reputation level 25 a quest unlocked an Exotic class item that boosted reputation gains.

Fate

Faction Rallies were phased out beginning in Destiny 2: Forsaken, and the factions left the Last City after Season of the Splicer. In modern Destiny 2 "faction" reputation is replaced by vendor ranks (see Vanguard, Crucible). Lakshmi-2 served as the Year 1 liaison.
