Future War Cult

Overview

The Future War Cult (FWC) is one of the three Consensus factions of the Last City, alongside Dead Orbit and New Monarchy. Its members believe war with the Darkness is inevitable and prepare by studying fate and possible futures. It traces back to Dr. Maya Sundaresh, whose Vex-inspired mind-forking device was recovered by the cult, and it gained credibility after predicting the Cabal invasion in the Red War.

Leadership

Lakshmi-2 represented the faction until her death in Season of the Splicer; her failed attempt to banish the Fallen with a Vex portal ended the faction, with members leaving the City or joining the Vanguard.

Location

Its representative operated in the Tower near the Hangar.

Vendor

During a Faction Rally, players pledged to FWC and traded Future War Cult Tokens (earned from strikes, Nightfalls, heroic public events and Lost Sectors) to Lakshmi-2 for a Future War Cult Engram holding a weapon or armor piece, such as the Simulator armor sets. The faction is always accessible but only accepts tokens during a rally.
