Eye to Eye

Overview

Eye to Eye is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires 30 kills with close-range weapons without the Guardian dying. The triumph tracks the number of Medals earned toward this goal. The qualifying weapon types are Sidearms, Submachine Guns, Shotguns, Glaives and Swords.

How to complete

The triumph is one run of 30 close-range kills in which the Guardian never dies. Kills from other weapon types do not add to the count.

1. Equip one of the qualifying weapon types. Shotguns, Sidearms and Submachine Guns are built for short-range fights, so they suit this triumph well.
2. Pick an activity with many small enemies close together, such as swarms of Thrall or Vex in Patrol or a Strike, so kills come quickly at short range.
3. Get close before you fire. A 2018 player report on the Bungie forums says a close-range kill counts when you are near enough to look the target in the eye. The report is from 2018, so confirm the distance on a current run.
4. Stay alive. The description requires that you do not die, so retreat to cover and avoid fights you cannot control while the count is building.
