Glaive

Overview

Glaives are a spear-like weapon type introduced in The Witch Queen. They are the first first-person melee weapon in the franchise: they use Special ammo, allow melee combos, fire projectile blasts and can deploy an energy shield that, when grounded, negates ultra-melee knockback.

Examples

Exotics include Edge of Action (Void), Edge of Intent (Solar), Edge of Concurrence (Arc), Vexcalibur (Void) and Winterbite (Stasis); Legendary glaives include The Enigma and Lubrae's Ruin.

Lore

Glaives come from the planet Lubrae and became known to Guardians when Savathûn used one to lure them into her Throne World; foundries later forged Guardian versions.
