History of Episode

Overview

An Episode is the content model that replaced Seasons in Destiny 2 starting with Destiny 2: The Final Shape in 2024. Per Wikipedia, each Episode contained three six-week Acts and an extended season pass of 200 reward ranks.

Episodes

• Episode: Echoes (June 11, 2024)
• Episode: Revenant (October 8, 2024)
• Episode: Heresy (February 4, 2025, ending when Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate launched July 15, 2025)

Wikipedia labels these Seasons 24-26. Each Episode adds new story content, an Exotic mission and Exotic gear; the Pathfinder and Seasonal Artifact carried over from the season model.

Afterwards

Year 7 was the only year to use Episodes; Year 8 returned to a different, expansion-led model (see Season).
