Dual Destiny

Overview

Dual Destiny is a secret 2-player Exotic mission in The Pale Heart, added in Episode: Echoes of Destiny 2: The Final Shape and discovered on June 7, 2024 after the world first Salvation's Edge clear. Recommended power: 1995. It takes place in the Refraction.

Unlocking

1. Complete Overthrow in The Landing, The Blooming and The Impasse; after each boss a Secret-Keeper of the Witch Queen (Lightbearer Wizard) must be killed.
2. Follow the green beam to a cave near The Blooming; defeat Expector Selin and Expector Yemiq for a Refracted Light orb and a Sublimated Darkness orb.
3. Deposit the orbs on the matching plates in the boss room to unlock the node.

Mechanics

Each player is Light Aligned (Void/Solar/Arc) or Darkness Aligned (Stasis/Strand). A 6-minute timer can be extended by breaking hidden Hive crystals. Encounters: symbol callouts, destabilising the crux (shoot the three unconnected pyramid switches), then the two Expectors and a dual-boss phase. The ending lets you choose peace (both pick love, both die and receive rewards) or fight.

Randomly rolled Exotic class items: Relativism (Hunter), Stoicism (Titan), Solipsism (Warlock).
