Deep Engrams
Overview
Deep Engrams are the seasonal engrams of Season of the Deep (Season 21, 2023). Each one decrypts into a Season of the Deep weapon or armor piece, or into a focused item if the right upgrades are unlocked. Deep Engrams are kept on the Sonar Station vendor screen rather than in the normal engram inventory, and the Engram Tracker item shows how many you hold.
Acquisition
- Sonar Station ranks: Each rank gained with the Sonar Station grants one Deep Engram.
- Salvage and Deep Dive: Engrams can drop from Salvage and Deep Dive activities. Redeeming the matching key at the end of the run can improve the chance.
- Sonar Station upgrades: Deep Challenger gives a chance at an extra engram for completing the weekly Season of the Deep activity challenge. Deep Attraction gives a chance on activity completion. Forgotten Treasures gives a chance when a Salvage or Deep Dive key is redeemed.
Focusing
The Sonar Station's Deep Engram Decoding menu opens once the focusing upgrades are unlocked. Focused engrams are consumed on purchase.
- Deep Armor Focusing targets individual high-stat Season of the Deep armor, including the NPA "Weir-Walker" pieces for each class.
- Deep Weapon Focusing targets Season of the Deep or Reckoning weapons. You must already own the weapon. Possible weapons include A Distant Pull (sniper rifle), Different Times (pulse rifle), Rapacious Appetite (submachine gun), Targeted Redaction (hand cannon), Thin Precipice (sword) and Until Its Return (shotgun).
Keys
Salvage Keys and Deep Dive Keys are separate items that drop from the Season Pass and ritual activities. Redeeming them at the end of a Salvage or Deep Dive run is what affects engram chances. Sources from 2023 do not describe a "Deep Key" item. Season 21 details may have changed since.
