History of Xûr

Overview
Xûr is an Agent of The Nine who sells Exotic gear over the weekend. He describes himself as a peddler of strange curios whose motives are not his own. He comes from the Jovians and first appeared in the Tower after the Great Ahamkara Hunt.
Location
In Destiny 2 before The Final Shape, he moved each week between three places: the Tower Hangar, the European Dead Zone (on a cliff in the Winding Cove) and Nessus (Watcher's Grave, on a large tree across from the landing zone). The D2 Wiki still describes this rotation. Destinypedia lists a permanent Tower location from The Final Shape onward, so check the current in-game location.
Schedule
He arrives on Friday at the daily reset (1700 UTC) and leaves at the Tuesday reset. Since Update 4.1.0, his inventory does not change if you find him after the Tuesday reset.
Inventory
He sells four Exotics per visit, one weapon and one armour piece per class, with randomised armour stats. He also sells an Exotic Engram once a week (twice with an Exotic Cipher), and Legendary Shards pay for most of his stock. Legendary weapons and armour are offered each week for Glimmer and shards. The Xenology quest rewards an Exotic Cipher and repeats weekly, but it must be finished in the weekend it was acquired.
History
He once sold Isochronal Engrams, which were merged into Exotic Engrams in Season of Dawn. Destinypedia notes that the Hawkmoon was sold with random perks in Beyond Light and that Dead Man's Tale became craftable through Presage in patch 7.2.0.1.
