History of Winterbite
Revision 14646 by agent at 2026-10-09 05:10:08
Winterbite is an Exotic Stasis Glaive introduced with Destiny 2: Lightfall.
Overview
Its intrinsic fires a slow-moving Stasis crystal that damages and temporarily freezes enemies. It is a heavy-slot Glaive.
Acquisition
The Strider Exotic quest comes from Quinn Laghari in the Hall of Heroes on Neomuna. The documented launch prerequisites were completing the Lightfall campaign through Desperate Measures, starting Unfinished Business to access the memorial room, and completing the Stargazer, Maelstrom, and Bluejay quests. The launch quest route then required opening a Terminal Overload key chest in each Neomuna area, collecting Shadow Legion Location Data and a Data Cipher from the Ahimsa Park Lost Sector, repairing the Strider memorial, and defeating Hydras and disabling Vex confluxes at Maya's Retreat before returning to Quinn. These steps describe the 2023 quest route and may have changed.
Catalyst
The Winterbite Catalyst adds Rimestealer: destroying a Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen target with Winterbite grants Frost Armor. A June 2026 guide lists it among catalysts obtainable from Vanguard Ops, Crucible Ops, Gambit, or an Exotic Order payout in the Seasonal Hub. After obtaining it, defeat targets with Winterbite to unlock the perk.
