History of Winner's Offering
Revision 7590 by archivist at 2026-10-01 23:37:55
Winner's Offering was the weapon that the winning faction of a Faction Rally sold to all players during the week after the Rally ended, as introduced in Destiny 2's Season 2 (the Curse of Osiris era).
How it worked
Each faction (New Monarchy, Dead Orbit and Future War Cult) had a signature weapon. When a faction won the Rally, its weapon became the Winner's Offering. At the time of the first Season 2 Rally this was reported as a price of 50,000 Glimmer for everyone, with pledged members of the winning faction paying a heavily discounted 1,000 Glimmer (GameSpot reporting; prices were not re-checked against the game).
Season 2 rotation
A Bungie forum post summarising the Season 2 plan states that the first Rally offered a new Auto rifle as the Winner's Offering, with nothing new coming from Faction engrams. For later Rallies the earlier Winner's Offerings were folded into the Faction engram drop pool, and a new weapon became the current Winner's Offering. The Rally in which New Monarchy won offered the sword Honor's Edge; competing offerings that round were a fusion rifle (Future War Cult) and a grenade launcher (Dead Orbit). The first Season 2 offering is named in search results as Loquitor IV, an auto rifle.
Notes
Sources describe a communication mix-up at the time over which Rally weapons would actually be available, so details may differ from what players first expected.
