History of Walk the Line

Overview

Walk the Line is the Exotic catalyst quest for the Duality shotgun, given by Banshee-44 in the Tower. It dates from Season of the Hunt (Season 12, Beyond Light era). You must own Duality first (Season Pass rank 1 premium or rank 35 free). It is a simple grind, typically an hour or two.

The calibration objective now refers to Ops activities. Older guides listed Strikes, Gambit and Seasonal playlists for this step, so activity names may differ between versions.

Walkthrough

1. Calibrate data and defeat targets while using Duality. Three objectives:

• Calibration progress 300: earned by completing Ops activities, Strikes, Gambit and Crucible matches. Crucible and Gambit wins and high-difficulty Nightfall completions give the most progress.
• 50 Guardians defeated with Duality (use it in Crucible or Gambit).
• 100 Duality Slug targets defeated: aim down sights so the slug fires; hip-fire does not count.

1. Return to Banshee-44 to receive the reward.

Rewards

• Duality Catalyst: +20 range and +2 magazine size once charged with 400 kills.

Trivia

• Step 1 is internally named "So Very Thin" and step 2 "Returning Home".
