Vaulted Obstacles

Overview

Vaulted Obstacles is a triumph in the Exotic Missions category for Zero Hour. Complete all three vault puzzles to earn 5 triumph score and the Vimana Junker Exotic ship. These are the reprised mission's puzzles, separate from the original 49-terminal configuration puzzle.

How to complete

Equip Outbreak Perfected and select Normal difficulty for more time. All three puzzles can be completed in one run; each needs its symbol sequence activated earlier in the mission before its terminal sequence becomes available in the vault. Finishing the boss afterward is not required for these puzzle rewards.

1. Puzzle 1 activation: clear the second combat courtyard and activate the panel near its entrance. Find the three symbol targets around the nearby building, central tower and exit ledge. Shoot the target matching the displayed symbol with Outbreak Perfected, then read the next hologram and shoot its match, followed by the remaining target.
2. Puzzle 2 activation: in the hangar, find the panel in the vent behind the aircraft. Its targets are beneath the stairs near the panel, beneath the stairs beside the aircraft, and above the stairs on the panel's side. Read the hologram near the aircraft for the second target and finish the sequence before the timer expires.
3. Puzzle 3 activation: in TR3-VR's maze, turn left after dropping in and enter the first hiding vent on the right wall. Activate its panel. The targets lie near the bottom-left corner, along the left-switch corridor and above the central chasm. Read the second hologram near the left corridor intersection. Avoid the electric barriers and robot; a death can force you to restart this activation.
4. Reach the vault beyond the burning floor. Use the left-wall monitor to identify the three puzzle rooms. Its arrows show terminal order: red marks terminals outside a room and black marks those inside. Solve the sequences below, with left and right taken from the vault entrance while facing down its central hall.

Vault terminal sequences

• Puzzle 1: in the first room on the left, activate the near-right terminal, then near-left; activate the terminal outside the doorway on its left; return inside for back-left and back-right; finish at the terminal right of the monitor beside the blue doorway.
• Puzzle 2: in the third room on the left, activate the central pillar's front, left and back terminals. Cross to the terminal left of the first right-hand doorway, then the terminal right of the third right-hand doorway. Finish at the pillar's right terminal in the original room.
• Puzzle 3: activate the terminal outside the second left-hand doorway, then the terminal left of the third right-hand doorway. Enter the second room on the right and activate back-right, back-left, left-wall and right-wall terminals, in that order.

Rewards

Each puzzle advances Outbreak Perfected's The Corruption Spreads intrinsic upgrades and provides a ship schematic. After all three objectives are marked complete, claim Vaulted Obstacles in Triumphs to receive Vimana Junker.
