Vanguard Cipher

Vanguard Ciphers are a currency used with Commander Zavala at the Tower. They are spent in his Focused Decoding menu, alongside Vanguard Engrams and Glimmer, to focus and purchase gear such as the Bushido armor set.

Acquisition

Ciphers drop from Vanguard Ops activities, though drops are inconsistent. The most reliable farm is Arena Ops; regular difficulty drops them at a solid rate, so Ultimate is not needed.

Vanguard Ciphers are separate from Exotic Ciphers, which are spent at the Monument to Lost Lights.
