Trying to Budget

Overview

Trying to Budget is a Triumph in Destiny 2. The objective requires the player to purchase Defenses during the Onslaught activity.

How to complete

To earn this triumph, players must engage in the Onslaught activity. Within this activity, the player is required to purchase Defenses.

Buying defenses

Earn Scrap by defeating enemies and completing objectives in Onslaught. During a build phase, approach a marked defensive emplacement around the ADU and spend Scrap to buy a tripmine, decoy or turret. Repeat purchases across runs to advance the record.

Build windows occur at the beginning of a set and after its third and sixth waves. Buy defenses covering the enemy approach lanes, and coordinate spending so the fireteam can protect the ADU. A decoy diverts attackers, a turret adds sustained fire and tripmines damage enemies entering their trigger area. Top of the Line is the separate record for upgrading defenses.

The record belongs to the original Into the Light Onslaught set. It has four score tiers totaling 40 Triumph score and no separate equipment reward.
