Transcendent Hydra

Overview

The Transcendent Hydra is a Vex Hydra that serves Belmon, Transcendent Mind. It is much smaller than Belmon but has a health pool comparable to an Ultra.

Location

It first appears in The Glassway (Europa strike), where it accompanies Belmon after the Vex Gate made by Clovis Bray is reactivated. Transcendent Hydras originally served Belmon on 2082 Volantis and followed it through a Warp Gate to Europa.

Encounter

It leads a wave on its own first, then joins Belmon for the final wave. Instead of an Aeon Maul it uses dual Slap Rifles that fire Arc bolts, and its size lets it chase players through enclosed areas. Like Belmon, it escapes into the void when its health drops to a third. If it takes enough damage quickly it can be killed before escaping, which skips a phase. Both it and Belmon must be destroyed to complete the strike.
