Touch of Malice Catalyst

Overview

Touch of Malice Catalyst tracks the upgrade for Touch of Malice, an Exotic kinetic Scout Rifle. After obtaining the catalyst, defeat 700 combatants with the weapon to complete the upgrade.

Catalyst acquisition

Obtain Touch of Malice from King's Fall, then complete the raid's three relic-relay puzzles. Activate the plates and have four players carry and deposit the spawned relics before the timer expires. The relays are in the Hall of Souls opening area, Golgoroth's Cellar and the Transept.

Completing the relays opens the hidden basketball room in the Transept. Use its launch pads to reach the relics and dunk them at the raised statue. Eligible fireteam members who own the weapon receive the catalyst when the room's objective is completed.

Upgrade and reward

Equip Touch of Malice and earn the 700 weapon defeats, using a repeatable Lost Sector or another enemy-dense activity. Keep your health restored during sustained fire, since the weapon's final round consumes the wielder's health. Apply the completed catalyst in the weapon details screen.

The current catalyst grants Precision Instrument, increasing precision damage through sustained damage. Older versions granted Rapid Hit; that perk is no longer the current catalyst reward.
