The Emissary

The Emissary is the title of the mortal vessel the Nine use to act in the physical world, also called the Emissary of the Nine (see Emissary of the Nine). Orin held the role until the events of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate: in the quest she tells the Drifter "I am no longer Emissary. I quit." and breaks free of the Nine's control. Lodi then becomes the new Emissary, and after the Nine's council he says "I'm the emissary now."
