History of Tangles

Tangles are knots of Strand matter. A Tangle appears when a Strand ability gets a kill: defeating a target afflicted by a Strand debuff such as Sever, Suspend or Unravel unwinds it into a Tangle above the body. Players can shoot a Tangle to destroy it, or pick it up and throw it. Destroying or throwing one deals area damage, which makes Tangles useful for clearing adds. Tangles also have a spawn cooldown.

Woven Mail is a Strand buff that reduces the damage you take. One guide says enemies deal 58% less damage to you while you have it. Reported values differ between guides. Into the Fray grants Woven Mail to nearby allies when a Tangle is destroyed or the Super is cast. Thread of Warding grants it when an Orb of Power is picked up, and Cyrtarachne's Facade is an Exotic helmet that also grants it.
