History of Taken War

The Taken War was the system-wide conflict in which Oryx and the Hive, seeking revenge for the death of his son Crota, spread the Taken across the Solar System. It began in Destiny's Year 2 after The Dark Below. The Awoken fleet engaged the Dreadnaught at Saturn; Vanguard Guardians ultimately killed Oryx in his throne world, as told in The Taken King. The Last City was threatened throughout.
