History of Taken Ogre

Overview

Taken Ogres are Taken variants of Hive Ogres, corrupted by the power of The Darkness. They serve whoever commands the Taken forces. They were first encountered during Oryx's campaign of vengeance for Crota, and have since served Oryx, Savathûn (briefly), Xivu Arath and The Witness.

Their main attack is an Arc eye beam that causes extreme knockback. Staggering them is the safest way to defeat them.

The Shattered Throne

In The Shattered Throne dungeon, Taken Ogres always spawn on the pillars connecting the catwalks of the Catwalk and Thrall Hall room. Their projectiles push Guardians off the narrow catwalks to a fatal fall. The recommended approach is to snipe each Ogre with a long-range weapon as it spawns. Vorgeth, the boss of the next encounter, is a Taken Ogre that is immune to all damage until its shield is removed.
