History of Taken

Overview

The Taken are beings from the Hive, Vex, Cabal, Fallen or Awoken who have been pulled into the Darkness and returned as obedient units with new powers. They are not a species of their own. Oryx, the Taken King, first wielded the power. Later Taken masters include Savathûn, who learned Taking through the Vex mind Quria, Xivu Arath, Riven and the Drifter. Some Taken use Stasis, and many use Void, Solar or Arc attacks.

Types

• Hive: Thrall, Acolyte, Knight, Wizard and Ogre.
• Vex: Goblin, Hobgoblin, Minotaur and Hydra.
• Fallen: Vandal, Captain and Chimera.
• Cabal: Taken Psion, Taken Phalanx and Taken Centurion.

Taken variants are often shielded or summon other enemies, and the Dire versions add a death effect.
