Tablets of Ruin

The Tablets of Ruin are Hive artifacts that serve as a means to commune with the Darkness and learn how to Take. Several have been recovered by Guardians and are kept by the Hidden.

In the Books of Sorrow, Akka is killed and the secret of calling upon the Deep is taken from its remains and recorded on the tablets. Oryx is shown wielding a chisel and saying he carved the tablets with it. Accounts differ on who carved them: Oryx in in-game lore, and Auryx the First Navigator in the Books of Sorrow verse.
