Overview

Stoking The Flame is a New Light quest from Ikora Rey in the Tower that unlocks the Solar subclasses (Dawnblade, Sunbreaker, Gunslinger). It follows A Guardian Rises and takes under an hour.

Walkthrough

  1. Pick up the quest from Ikora Rey.
  2. Earn 1,000 Solar points by defeating combatants; Solar damage gives far more points. Generate 3 Orbs of Power, for example by casting your Super. Equip a Solar Energy weapon (check for the Solar symbol on the Character screen).
  3. Return to Ikora Rey in the Tower.

The Destiny 2 Wiki lists higher numbers (1,000 Solar kills, 10 Orbs, 25,000 XP), which reflect an earlier Season 12 version; the in-game text now needs 1,000 Solar points and 3 Orbs.
