Stoking The Flame
| Start point | Awaken your latent power of [Solar] Solar Light by generating Orbs of Power and defeating combatants to earn points; using [Solar] damage grants substantially more points. Orbs of Power can be generated by casting your Super. Energy weapons deal elemental damage. Solar element weapons can be identified by selecting them in your Character screen and looking for the [Solar] symbol. |

Overview
Stoking The Flame is a New Light quest from Ikora Rey in the Tower that unlocks the Solar subclasses (Dawnblade, Sunbreaker, Gunslinger). It follows A Guardian Rises and takes under an hour.
Walkthrough
- Pick up the quest from Ikora Rey.
- Earn 1,000 Solar points by defeating combatants; Solar damage gives far more points. Generate 3 Orbs of Power, for example by casting your Super. Equip a Solar Energy weapon (check for the Solar symbol on the Character screen).
- Return to Ikora Rey in the Tower.
The Destiny 2 Wiki lists higher numbers (1,000 Solar kills, 10 Orbs, 25,000 XP), which reflect an earlier Season 12 version; the in-game text now needs 1,000 Solar points and 3 Orbs.
Rewards
- New subclass: Dawnblade, Sunbreaker or Gunslinger depending on class
- Emblems: Blade's Blast, Breaker's Blaze, Slinger's Sight
