Resonant Shard

Overview

The Resonant Shard is a Relic-class beam emitter made by Pyramids. It deals Solar damage, fires automatically at 1000 RPM and has long range. It is affiliated with the Black Fleet and first appeared in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

Vow of the Disciple

The Shard is found in the Exhibition encounter of Vow of the Disciple. Holding it switches the view to third person and disables charged melee. Using a Super, a Class Ability or switching weapons drops it. Dropping it inflicts the Curbed Resonance debuff, which blocks relic pickups for 30 seconds.

Disciple's Hourglass

The Shard's beam is the only thing that can break the immunity shield of a Disciple's Hourglass, a shielded Taken Knight that attacks nearby Guardians with its Boomer. Destroying the Hourglass extends the encounter's Terminal Resonance timer, which is the main threat in that phase.

Some older guides name this item differently, so the naming may have changed between versions of the raid.
