Redeemable

Redeemable items are reward items that are spent or opened to claim something rather than used directly. The Treasure Key is the main example: it is a single-use item.

Treasure Keys

Treasure Keys come from completing the House of Wolves story, from Ether chests, from smaller Prison of Elders chests, and from completing the first new Wanted bounty each week. Patch 2.2.0 removed the requirement to use a Treasure Key to open the treasure room chest.

Treasure Keys are now Legendary Redeemables with a stack size of 21. They can be earned from Dares of Eternity and as a possible reward from opening a Paraversal Haul, and Starhorse sells them in Xûr's Treasure Hoard for 10 Strange Coins each. In Xûr's Treasure Hoard, a Treasure Key opens a white chest that gives one of six weapons. Golden chests there require the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack and the required Strange Favor rank with Xûr.
