Phobos

Phobos is one of the two asteroid moons of Mars, about 12.4 km across. During the Taken War the Cabal used it as a staging point for their invasion and occupation of Mars. When Oryx arrived in the Sol System, the Taken swarmed Phobos and forced the Cabal to abandon a major base there.

The Cabal later moved Phobos closer to Mars. Warlocks commonly believe the Ice Reapers hold it in place as a potential weapon. In Destiny 2 it appears mostly in mentions, including the Season of the Hunt weblore, where Phobos began drifting back toward its natural orbit after the Psion Flayers died. The Phobos base's design was later inspired by Sand Eaters concept art.
