Operation Ahamkara

Overview

Operation Ahamkara was the search by the Guardian, Cayde-6 and Crow for uncorrupted fissures of Light in the Lost Sectors of the Pale Heart, so the Guardian could commune with the Traveler. The search led to the Blooming Deep, where the team found Luzaku, a Hive Lightbearer of the Lucent Brood who had been transformed from an Acolyte into a Wizard. Luzaku was fighting the Taken there. The Guardian cleared the Taken alongside her, and the communion went ahead. Luzaku promised not to interfere, though she warned that her brood could still be a threat.

Background

Luzaku was likely pulled into the Pale Heart during the Invasion of Neptune, when the Witness opened a portal as the Pyramid ships crossed the Threshold. She later broke from her brood and was drawn to the Blooming Deep, where she stayed to contemplate, plan and protect it from invaders.

Aftermath

Luzaku later aided the Guardian against Tormentors and Taken in The Refraction, fought alongside Savathûn in a Hive fireteam during the final battle against the Witness, and helped the Guardian and Fynch infiltrate Savathûn's Throne World during the Dire Emergence.
