Nightmare of the Fanatic

Overview

Nightmare of the Fanatic is the Nightmare of Fikrul, the final boss of the first two Sever missions, Shame and Reconciliation, from the Season of the Haunted.

Encounter

Both fights work the same way. After crossing the Underbelly of the Derelict Leviathan, players reach the Gauntlet, where Crow and the Nightmare of Uldren wait. Players start the Severance Ritual to begin the fight, and placing a Rally Banner beforehand restores ammo and ability energy.

The boss teleports away after taking enough damage and leads players through a portal into the Gauntlet, which has three sections. Each phase ends with a teleport back to the arena, where Scorn spawn and must be cleared. A Scythe appears partway through the clear and helps against the remaining enemies. Once the Scorn are gone, the Gauntlet portal reopens. Most players need two phases, and the cycle repeats until the boss dies. Unstable Essence dropped by slain Nightmares increases damage output.

Reconciliation modifier

Reconciliation has the Attrition modifier, which reduces health regeneration. Defeated enemies spawn Wells of Light that restore health.
