Medusa

Overview

Medusa is a triumph in Destiny 2: Forsaken. It is associated with the lore entry Truth to Power and the character Medusa. The triumph requires the Guardian to engage with the narrative surrounding this enigmatic figure, who claims to be a survivor of the Golden Age and a secret watcher over the Dreaming City.

How to complete

To complete this triumph, the Guardian must acquire the lore book Truth to Power. This lore book is available during Season of the Drifter and is also included in The Hidden Dossier.

The narrative within Truth to Power describes Medusa as a Craftmind, an artificial intelligence designed for covert operations. She asserts that she survived the singularity that consumed the Yang Liwei and hid among the Awoken on the Distributary. She later followed Mara Sov back into the Solar System and stationed herself as an observer in the Dreaming City.

The text notes that both the Warmind Rasputin and the Golden Age AI Failsafe have no record of her existence, despite their extensive histories in the Sol System and the Exodus Project, respectively. The lore also suggests that Medusa may be a manifestation of the Taken Vex Mind Quria, Blade Transform, though this remains unconfirmed. Additionally, the lore book is suspected to be written by Savathûn, potentially serving as a narrative device to generate Imbaru for the Witch Queen.
