Leeching Force

Overview

Leeching Force is a buff that Guardians carry during the Rhulk encounter of Vow of the Disciple. Players cycle it between themselves to keep the force field and the encounter under control.

Mechanics

• Gaining it: In the first phase, the Guardian who lands the killing blow on Rhulk's glaive above his head receives the buff. In the second phase, breaking the floating glaive left after his charge attack grants it to the Guardian who delivers the killing blow.
• Passing it on: A holder standing on the swapping plate summons two Darkness Cruxes. Breaking both transfers the buff to those two Guardians and removes it from the original holder.
• Timer: The buff has a timer, and the holder dies when it reaches zero.
• Conversion: Rhulk's beam of Darkness turns Leeching Force into Emanating Force, which cannot be swapped to other Guardians. The holder deposits it at the pillar showing the matching symbol, which pushes back the force field.

One transcript of the encounter calls the converted buff "Encroaching Force", which is an inconsistency in that source.
